María Luque

María Luque (1983) lives and works in Rosario, Argentina. She exhibits her work both individually and collectively since 2005 in museums and independent spaces of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Spain, Germany and, having her work being part of the first edition of Gran Salon Mexico through Sudestada –where she was a sold out artist–, she arrives for the first time to Mexico. Her work is often part of different publications and fanzines.

Julius Wiedemann

Editor at TASCHEN

As part of the special activities at Gran Salon Mexico, we invited the editor specialized on illustration for the editorial house TASCHEN Julius Wiedemann, responsible for books such as the series Illustration Now! and 100 Illustrators, among others.


Mr. Wiedemann will see the work of all participants of the Fair, will do portfolio reviews, will give a talk and will be one of the juries for the 1st illustration competition for college students "The New Revolutionaries". The contest is presented together with loveUK.

Guest Fair (Argentina)

SUDESTADA is an exhibition and fair of contemporary Argentine illustration organized

by Musaraña Libros that, on 2014, will have an edition in Buenos Aires in October and another in Mexico City in November as a guest fair at Gran Salon Mexico.

Andrés Silva (Montevideo, Uruguay, 1986) is a graduated in Graphic Design by ORT University and a self-taught illustrator. Co-founder of Silva Bros together with Leonardo Silva, an illustration and design studio. Since 2013 works as Art Director for the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (Geneva, Switzerland). In 2014 he entered the first National Edition of Illustration of Children's Literature organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, where he won the first prize in the illustration for children's category. In 2015 he published the book Tambor tambora as part of the collection of picture books at Criatura Editora, and got the third prize in the second edition of Illustration of Children's Literature.
